La Alcazaba Monument

The Alcazaba Monument is a 10th-century fortress with three huge enclosures, gardens, and the Walls of Hayrán marching down the valley to the San Cristobál hill opposite. Warrens of cave houses are cut into the rock below. From here you will have great views of the city and port, and the most legendary sunsets.

Museo Refugio De La Guerra Civil

The Spanish Civil War affected the population tremendously. Because of the bombings, the citizens of Almería decided to undertake a construction of underground bunkers, shelters. Today you can visit these bunkers and go all the way back to the Civil War.

Best Time To Visit

Almeria is the perfect destination for a summer holiday. The temperatures are highest in the months from June to August. July boasts the most pleasant water temperatures. If you are looking to avoid holiday crowds, you should visit in September, where the weather will still be nice, especially during the month's first half.

Everything in town is situated within walking distance. The Main Bus Station is called Estación Intermodal and is located at Plaza De la Estación. If you want to travel outside town, there are regular bus services to Granada, Sevilla, Madrid and other cities around Spain.
