Adnan Menderes Airport

The airport is 18 km southwest of the city centre and can be reached by a number of methods. Buses leave from the THY stand at Menderes airport and drop off at the THY terminal in the Buyek Efes hotel on Gaziosmanpasa Bulvari. Every 20 – 30 min. The journey takes 30 mins. You can take a taxi from Menderes airport to the city centre. Menderes airport – Alsancak train station, laves on the hour, but has rather unreliable service.

Best Time To Visit

Since Izmir has mostly a Mediterranean climate with relatively low rainfall, a cool sea breeze during the nights and heat and dry summers, it is best to visit during the months of June to August. The weather will be the most pleasant then and you will have the opportunity to explore Izmir and its surroundings.
